The St. Tammany Parish Coroner has ruled the death of the fire chief’s wife in July, as a homicide. The body of Nanette Krentel, wife of Fire District 12 Chief Stephen Krentel, was discovered in the rubble of the couple’s home which had burned to the ground on July 14th. Coroner Charles Preston said it was determined from the start Mrs. Krentel died from a gunshot wound.

STPSO releases statement on dog that was killed after being dragged by truck

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is not happy the Humane Society of Louisiana sent out a release about a dog that was killed after being dragged behind a pickup truck. Captain Daniel Seuzeneau says before deputies were notified about this incident, the photo of the man involved was shared feverously across social media.

A Covington man is behind bars after police say he tried to run over an 8-year-old then rammed a sheriff’s deputy on I-12. Capt. Daniel Seuzeneau with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call about a domestic dispute between 34-year-old Shawn Porrovecchio and his girlfriend.

A man from El Salvador who admitted to being an illegal alien has been detained by federal authorities in Covington after a St. Tammany Parish deputy discovered an outstanding warrant on him out of Central America.
Captain Daniel Seuzeneau says 36-year-old Juan Sanchez-Roldan was pulled over on Highway 190.

A dangerous couple is behind bars following a traffic stop in Covington that led to a disturbing discovery. Capt. Daniel Seuzeneau with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says Monroe Myers and his girlfriend, Winter Flowers, were pulled over for a missing taillight.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office says the K-9 Thor who was attacked and stabbed during a pursuit of a burglary suspect, is in recovery and doing well. Sheriff Jack Strain says they are hopeful Thor can return to work sooner than later, but they are taking it day by day starting with when doctors remove the drain tube from the surgery site.

STPSO: Brothers arrested in connection to murder of woman found in burned car in Sun

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says two brothers are under arrest in connection with the murder of Nanette Me'Shell King whose dead body was found in a burned car near Sun. 

Sheriff Jack Strain says the victim's ex boyfriend, 53-year-old Gary Harris, allegedly murdered her -- and his brother, 64-year-old Ray Harris, helped him cover it up.
