The entire Shreveport City Council voted no to a multi-million dollar project to build a sports complex and arena downtown. Councilman Oliver Jenkins says he voted against the Cross Bayou Project because there was not a lot of visible public support. He hopes they can go back to the drawing board because partnering with a Tom Benson company is a great opportunity.

The Shreveport City Council will soon consider a proposal to construct a $30-million sports complex in the downtown area. The goal of the complex, which would be right next to a proposed mixed use development site, is to lure the New Orleans Pelicans G-League team to the arena. Local banker Rick Holland says different entities are now gathering their plans for presentation.
