Shreveport City Council votes no on proposed $30 million sports complex

The entire Shreveport City Council voted no to a multi-million dollar project to build a sports complex and arena downtown. Councilman Oliver Jenkins says he voted against the Cross Bayou Project because there was not a lot of visible public support. He hopes they can go back to the drawing board because partnering with a Tom Benson company is a great opportunity.

Shreveport City Council to vote today whether to move forward with multi-use sports complex

The Shreveport City Council is slated to vote today on whether or not to move forward with the necessary steps to build a more than $100 million dollar mixed-use complex along the Cross-Bayou Corridor. It's expected this would solidify the efforts of the city to attract the New Orleans Pelicans' development league.

Shreveport City Council to vote on proposed $30 million sports complex

The Shreveport City Council will soon consider a proposal to construct a $30-million sports complex in the downtown area. The goal of the complex, which would be right next to a proposed mixed use development site, is to lure the New Orleans Pelicans G-League team to the arena. Local banker Rick Holland says different entities are now gathering their plans for presentation.
