St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's K-9 unit recovering after stabbing

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office says the K-9 Thor who was attacked and stabbed during a pursuit of a burglary suspect, is in recovery and doing well. Sheriff Jack Strain says they are hopeful Thor can return to work sooner than later, but they are taking it day by day starting with when doctors remove the drain tube from the surgery site.

St. Tammany announces numerous arrests as part of a major heroin bust

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office says they’ve arrested 15 suspects as part of a major heroin bust. Sheriff Jack Strain says an extensive 14 month investigation resulted in arrests in both St. Tammany and Tangiaphoa Parishes.

STPSO: Woman shot in head by ex-boyfriend drives herself to hospital

Authorities in St. Tammany Parish say the woman who was shot in the head allegedly by her ex-boyfriend then drove herself to the hospital is going to survive. Sheriff Jack Strain says they believe 56-year-old Ronald Brown of Pearl River broke into victim's home and waited for her to arrive.

St Tammany SO: Man charged in death of girlfriend whose body was found Thursday

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says the man whose Alabama girlfriend  was found dead in a wide open field near Madisonville Thursday has been charged with second degree murder in her death. Detectives say they received information from 34-year-old Johnathan Nall that led them to the body of Melinda 26-year-old Melinda Denny.

Son of victim who was found dead along with 2-year-old baby accused in the murders

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's office says they've arrested a man from Metairie for allegedly murdering his father and his 2-year-old half sister in their Covington area home. Sheriff Jack Strain says the mother of the baby found the child and her husband, Jacob Middleton Sr., shot to death Monday morning.
