U-L Lafayette and U-L Monroe are co-favorites to win the Sun Belt Conference, according to the preseason football coaches poll released today. Each received 57 votes, but the Cajuns had more first place votes, 4, compared to the 2 the Warhawks received.
Arkansas State also received two first place votes and A-S-U is predicted to finish third in the league and Western Kentucky is projected to end the season in fourth place.
ULM Quarterback Kolton Browning has been named the Sun Belt preseason offensive player of the year. The Texas native threw for over three-thousand yards and tossed a school record 29 touchdowns last season. Browning is oen of five Warhawks to be named to the preseason All-Sun Belt team.
U-L Lafayette landed three players on the preseason all-league team, senior Andrew Huval, senior linebacker Justin Anderson and junior defensive lineman Christian Ringo.
