Southeastern Louisiana University has new scholarships available to attract high achieving students to the school. Senior Director of University Marketing Mike Rivault says SLU has always been ranked highly in terms of graduating students with low debt. He says they created this scholarship to applaud students who performed well in high school and will continue that in college.

“We start at ACT level of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.0. So students that are in that range have a higher opportunity for getting their college costs covered.”

Rivault says in state students can also receive TOPS on top of this scholarship. He says eligible students can receive this scholarship if they apply before January 15th, 2018.

“It’s a very affordable choice for going to college and we do feel like it will be successful and it also helps encourage students to apply earlier than they might otherwise have.”

Students with an ACT score of 30 or higher could receive the highest scholarship amount, which is 7-thousand dollars. Rivault says earlier this year, Southeastern launched the Promise program which locked tuition rates at the same cost if the student promises to graduate in four years. He says this new scholarship along with Southeastern Promise gives students a great education at a great value.

“You’re a high achieving student, you know what your major is, you want to graduate on time. We have the perfect program for you. We have a very aggressive scholarship program and we have a very aggressive promise that we are committed to you.”
